The Devon Rural Archive (DRA) provides a much needed  resource for local historians, archaeologists, genealogists and the public at  large in Devon. The Elizabeth Goudge Society. Elizabeth Goudge lived in Marldon between 1938 and 1951 and the Village and its surroundings inspired some of her most famous books.. The Elizabeth Goudge Society provides more information on her life and books, and is a means for people to further their knowledge and appreciation of her work.
