  Picture Postcards of Marldon

  
  

  Picture postcards date from the late 1800's and with same-day deliveries very much the norm in those days they were the equivalent of the mobile communicators of today. Illustrated with widely diverse subjects like animals, film stars, national events, wartime, transportation and royalty; comic, saucy and topographical cards sent from the seaside became the most popular. Handed down over the generations they now tell the story of changes in social history and so much more besides.
  
  
  The postcards exhibited here are a selection of those published for Marldon. They are part of personal collections owned by Marldon Local History Group committee members Ray Bond and Doug Pulle.
